New asphalt tennis courts in Hertfordshire

ETC Sports Surfaces rejuvenates asphalt tennis courts for Hoddesdon Lawn Tennis Club in Hertfordshire

One aspect of our service that we’re particularly proud of at ETC Sports Surfaces is the level of repeat business that we enjoy from satisfied customers. They come back to us time and again because they know that they can trust us with all aspects of their tennis court maintenance and construction projects (and, of course, with installation and aftercare services for many other sports).

For us, there can be no better endorsement of our work! A prime example of this is our valued relationship with our lovely friends at Hoddesdon Lawn Tennis Club, who have been relying on our services to maintain their artificial grass and asphalt tennis courts for more than ten years now. The club enjoys a pedigree dating back more than a century, LTA Clubmark Accreditation and a membership base keen to maximise use of their ten courts. So, Hoddesdon’s tennis court maintenance and upgrade contracts are quite a responsibility for our team! We take that responsibility seriously, always striving to deliver quality balanced with value for money – and that’s why Hoddesdon’s committee members have chosen to make us their long-term construction and maintenance partners.

Guaranteeing the highest standards of service for all types of tennis courts

Resurfacing two of Hoddesdon Lawn Tennis Club’s asphalt tennis courts in late 2018 formed part of a larger upgrade project that ran between 2016 and 2018. In 2016, the ETC Sports Surfaces team was contracted to revitalise three of the club’s full-sized grass tennis courts with new Playrite Grandplay tufted surfaces – completing the job in just four weeks and delivering a result that Club Development Manager, Remi Suzan, described as “outstanding”.

We then returned to site in 2018, to revitalise two new hard tennis courts with a 6mm Ultisport Tennis Open Surface Course Porous Asphalt surface, supplied by our colleagues at Tarmac Ltd. Delivering a smooth, low texture and consistent playing surface – with superior drainage for play in wet weather – these asphalt tennis courts strike the ideal balance between meeting players’ expectations and guaranteeing a long life span – perfect for tennis court constructions with a busy footfall!  They’re also compliant with SAPCA guidelines – ensuring their quality and suitability for the task in hand.

Delivering tennis court resurfacing on time – every time

Whether it’s a construction, resurfacing or maintenance project, we’re committed to delivering every contract on time, within budget and to the client’s complete satisfaction. This project was no exception. We began work on the 18th September and achieved practical completion of the asphalt tennis courts on the 7th November, despite the challenges of accommodating the autumn and early winter weather.

The client chose to finish their new tennis courts with an attractive blue coating and white markings – a clean and hardwearing finish that will protect the courts for many years to come. Remi recently confirmed that the club is extremely pleased with their new courts, which they have found to be “delivered to the same high standards that we have come to expect from ETC Sports Surfaces and their workforce”. That’s the kind of feedback we love to hear, since it confirms that we’re upholding the exemplary standards that we have built our reputation on – both on site and amongst our customer service and management teams.
