Great Baddow Recreation Ground, Essex

In January 2018, ETC Sports Surfaces completed a 3G pitch construction project at Great
Baddow Recreation Ground in Essex.

We were commissioned by Great Baddow Parish Council to resurface an existing artificial
grass pitch with a 3G all-weather surface. We installed the Playrite Conqueror 60 MF (monofilament) for the artificial grass
surface, which is their 60mm 3G surface and features sand and rubber infill. The project also
included fencing and associated works.

The 3G (third generation) pitch is an artificial, all-weather pitch using synthetic materials. The
revolutionary technology behind the 3G pitch means that players can enjoy the look and feel
of natural turf with all the benefits of a hardwearing, weather and stud resistant surface. You
can find out more about 3G surfaces and their benefits here.

The Recreation Ground is home to many sports facilities, children’s and teenagers’ play
areas and a youth shelter. The facility offers, football, cricket, tennis and bowls to name but a
few sports, as well as floodlit sports courts and 3G all-weather sports pitch. The main benefit
of installing a 3G sports pitch at Great Baddow Recreation Ground, is that it can be used all
year round and, in all weathers, ensuring they can make optimal use of the facility. Click here to find
