A traditional netball court will be made up from a variation of foundation stone, then a tarmac base and surface wearing course, and then final preferred surface. Normally a traditional chain link fence is installed around the perimetre although we can offer different variations. Recommended size is 37m x 20m
The most cost effective surface is:
Polymeric netball surface is a mixture of rubber and a polyurethane binder which is layed in-situ. They have a degree of cushioning providing a softer footing than the macadam surfaces and a medium to slow pace. The slip resistance can be altered with the final coating. A variety of colour combinations are available. This is the most favoured surface for the ENA but it is not the most cost effective situation for the majority of netball clubs.
Playmac is ideal for use in this country, where the weather is so often erratic! It Because of its unique properties, it is perfect for netball court construction as the macadam is porous and can be played on soon after any amounts of rain. We call this an "All-Weather" surface. It is ideal for private, club and school use, as it needs very little maintenance throughout the year. A heavy textured paint is applied to meet the required slip resistance. Also available in a variety of colours.
Needle punch carpets – this is a hard wearing alternative surface which can provide excellent characteristics and durability, and generally they are around 8-16mm thick and have a fine sand filling. The surface is either tufted or woven.
